🎮 Complete Beginner's Guide: Level 1-125 in Arcane Odyssey
Your complete roadmap to mastering Arcane Odyssey from tutorial to endgame. This 2026-updated guide
covers optimal leveling routes, essential settings, magic recommendations, and efficient progression
strategies through both Bronze Sea and Nimbus Sea.
⚙️ Essential First Steps (Before You Start)
BEFORE playing the game, adjust these crucial settings to avoid frustration and
accidental mistakes:
⚙️ Critical Settings (Press ESC → Settings)
Dodge Keybind: Change to Shift (default Q causes accidental dodges)
Chat Settings: Disable global messages and attack names for clearer
screen
Mouse Icon: Use pointer icon for better aim precision
Screen Shake: Turn OFF to reduce motion sickness
Render Distance: Increase if your device can handle it
💡 Pro Tip: These settings will make combat much smoother. Many new players
struggle because they skip this step!
🔮 Choosing Your First Magic
Your first magic choice matters, but it's not permanent—you can obtain more magics as you level.
Here are the best options for beginners:
🔥 Recommended: Fire Magic
Why Fire: Balanced damage, size, and speed. Perfect for learning the
game
Burn DoT: Continuous damage helps in both PvE and PvP
Versatility: Works well in all scenarios and with any build type
Easy to Use: Forgiving projectile speed and hitboxes
⚡ Alternative: Lightning or Water
Lightning: Fastest projectiles, paralysis effect, great for PvP
(requires better aim)
⚠️ Avoid for Beginners: Wood (weakest magic), Magma (too slow for PvP), complex
magics like Crystal (high skill ceiling). Save these for your 2nd or 3rd magic slots.
Levels 1-10
Tutorial & Redwake Port
Starting your journey in
the War Seas
📍 Quest Progression
Spawn on abandoned island → Find food and talk to NPC on hill
Take rowboat to Redwake Port
Engage pirates and meet Estrid (tavern keeper)
Complete Chief Alfarin's quests to properly start
💰 Money Tip: Open EVERY chest you see. Sell unused low-level items
immediately. Don't upgrade early armor—you'll replace it quickly.
🚢 Ship Basics
Purchase a sailboat early (cheapest option to start)
At level 20: Hire better deckhands for ship combat
Prioritize ship SPEED upgrades for safer travel
Avoid the "Catch" ship—it's weak and not worth it
⚠️ Common Mistake: Don't rush the main quest! Complete ALL available side
quests and explore fully. Being overleveled makes boss fights much easier.
Levels 10-40
Bronze Sea Exploration
Frostmill, Caves, and
Cirrus Island
🗺️ Primary Locations
Frostmill (~Level 10-20): Ice Smuggler quests are excellent for
leveling. Repeatable and good XP.
Frostmill Cave: Continue smuggler quests from levels 20-40
Cirrus Island (~Level 40): Complete ALL quests before facing Lord Elius
boss
📊 Leveling Methods
Main Story Quests: Blue question marks on map—always prioritize these
Side Quests: Yellow marks—excellent bonus XP and gear
Repeatable Quests: Bright green marks—farm these when stuck
Exploration: 100% island completion grants XP bonus (hover over islands on
map)
💡 Power Leveling: The Ice Smuggler quests in Frostmill can carry you from
level 10-20 very quickly. Farm them until you hit the XP cap!
⚔️ Combat Tips for Bosses
As a mage: Maintain distance, use ranged spells, dodge with Shift
Even if you can't defeat a boss, hitting it grants XP—don't give up!
Use terrain to your advantage (pillars, walls for cover)
Levels 40-93
Mid-Game Grind
Palo Town, Sailor's Lodge,
Fort Talos
Leveling slows down here. Diversify your XP sources for optimal progression:
🗺️ Quest Hubs
Palo Town: Banana quest and other repeatables—good steady XP
Sailor's Lodge (65-80+): Continue main story progression
Fort Talos (75+): Face General Argos boss fight
💎 Alternative XP Sources
🏴☠️ Treasure Hunting
Buy a Shovel from shops
Obtain Treasure Charts (from chests/quests)
Each treasure = 1-2 levels worth of XP!
Higher rarity charts = more XP
🤿 Diving Spots
Underwater structures
Massive XP boost per completion
Can grant a full level each
Look for glowing markers
💡 Efficiency Strategy: Mix quests with exploration and treasure hunting. Don't
just grind quests—island exploration at 100% completion gives significant XP bonuses!
Levels 93-125
Endgame Push
Ravenna & Cargo Run
Strategy
🏛️ Ravenna Quests (~Level 93)
Fishing quests
"Bored Centurion" quest
Cargo delivery quests
Complete main story through Ravenna
📦 Cargo Run Method (MOST EFFICIENT 93-125)
Purchase Cargo: 50 Galleons from any Shipwright
Sail to Distant Island: The farther, the more XP (Ravenna ↔ Shell
Island recommended)
Sell at Destination: Talk to Shipwright to complete delivery
XP Scales: Based on your level + distance traveled
Repeat: This is hands-down the fastest method for levels 93+
💡 Pro Strategy: Cargo runs between Ravenna and Shell Island are the META for
endgame leveling. You can easily gain 2-3 levels per hour doing this. Much faster than questing
at high levels!
⚠️ Ship Safety: Invest in a fast, durable ship for cargo runs. Getting attacked
mid-delivery loses your cargo AND the 50 Galleon investment. Prioritize speed upgrades!
📊 Build Planning Guide
Understanding Stats
You gain 2 stat points per level, totaling 250 points at level 125. Use our Build Planner to experiment!
🔮 Pure Mage Build (Beginner-Friendly)
Stats: 100% Magic (250 points)
Pros: Highest damage, ranged combat, easy to learn
⚠️ Stat Resets Are Expensive: Plan your build carefully! Use our Build Planner
tool BEFORE committing points. Fixing mistakes later costs a lot of Galleons.
